Writing an argumentative essay is not that difficult especially when you are in 7th grade. Most students make the mistake of writing on topics that are not too controversial. You can always write on a subject on which the opinions are already made by majority of the people but the real challenge is writing on something on which the opinions are still divided. Here are a few pointers to help you write the perfect argumentative paper.

Writing a winning paper

When you are going to write you will have to follow a few guidelines. A well written argumentative essay will impress your teacher and help you get good grades. To do this you will have to write according to a specific format that helps the reader in understanding what you are trying to say. A persuasive paper has to bring out the best points of the argument to help convince the reader. It is very much like writing a script for a debate where you will have to present your side of the story and also do your best to defend it.

  • The first thing you will have to do is pick a topic to work on. There are many different topics to work on but make sure you select something that has enough materials to write on. You can always choose safe topics but a controversial subject makes it more challenging.
  • After you have selected the topic you will have to start digging for facts. You will have to support your views with logics and facts. The information has to be accurate otherwise you will not be able to convince your reader.
  • You may even go through a few websites to understand how the format should be. There are many websites that have sample papers to help students. Once you understand the structure you will have to start writing.
  • You will have to plan your way according to the topic. You do not have to cram all the points you have found. Rather try to bring together the most relevant facts and elaborate on those. The order in which you arrange the points is also important.
  • Try to keep the flow and continuity of your paper. Proper planning will ensure your transitions from one point to the next are effective.
  • Do not forget to proofread once you have completed writing the whole paper.
